Helping San Diego Magazine Renovate Their Downtown Headquarters

When we think about San Diego, the first thing that comes to our mind is a sunny, coastal and laid back city with great people and great beer, this is the spirit of San Diego, which is well represented by the renowned San Diego Magazine, however, their offices did not represent the lively culture of the city, so it was time for a change.

The much-needed face-lift of the magazine’s downtown headquarters was carried out by Allison Whitt of DesignX Architecture and Interiors. The walls were repainted with a lively palette of colors, the old carpet was replaced with a clean, gray-hued luxury vinyl tile.

The conference room features a custom sepia-toned wall collage of past magazine covers. The new kitchen features another custom mural that displays different mantras, slogans, and sayings often used by the magazine’s editorial and marketing departments.

One of the corridors showcases dozens of oversized classic magazine covers, chosen by the staff and printed on acrylic, and the elevator lobby holds another collage mural of vibrant images from the magazine that best represent the brand and our city, all of these printed by Scantech Graphics.

We were really pleased with the results but even more pleased with knowing that our client was satisfied with our work.
